Biosota Gift Guide 2026: Christmas Koalas, Honey Sticks and Violetglass Gift Boxes by Budget

Biosota Gift Guide 2026: Christmas Koalas, Honey Sticks and Violetglass Gift Boxes by Budget

Picture the gift table on Christmas morning: a pile of rectangular boxes that all look the same, and one small koala in a Santa hat and scarf peeking out from its own box. That one gets opened first. Biosota, the family-run Manuka honey producer on Australia's Gold Coast, builds a lot of its holiday range around that kind of moment, from a $14 glass dipper to a violet glass jar in a Christmas box.

GlowTrials went through Biosota's gift shelf in October 2026 and sorted it by budget, using the US-dollar prices the store displays to US shoppers. We also pulled the shipping and returns rules that matter when a parcel has to travel from Australia in time for the holidays.

Three Things to Settle Before You Order

  • Change of mind isn't covered. Biosota's returns policy says it doesn't offer refunds, returns or replacements for change-of-mind purchases. Damaged or faulty items can be reported for a refund, replacement or store credit after review.
  • Order early. Orders are processed within 1–2 business days, and the brand estimates 2–5 business days for standard domestic delivery in Australia and the USA, or 5–21 business days for international parcels depending on customs.
  • Not for babies. The brand's FAQ says honey of any kind should never be given to infants under 12 months, so skip honey gifts for a newborn's stocking.

Little Extras Under $20

Premium Glass Honey Dipper, $14

A long, smooth glass dipper made for reaching into jars and drizzling without drips. It's the natural add-on to any jar below, and at $14 it doubles as a teacher or coworker gift.

Manuka Honey Drops, $12 or $17

Individually wrapped drops in Ginger & Lemon or Blackcurrant, sold in an 80g bag for $12 or a 135g bag for $17. The Ginger & Lemon ingredients read cane sugar, glucose, Australian Manuka honey MGO 950+, lemon oil, ginger oil, natural flavours and menthol. Easy to toss into a stocking or a carry-on.

Stocking Stars, $27 to $45

Christmas Koala Honey Bear, $42

The showstopper for kids over one and anyone who loves Australiana. Biosota's girl and boy koalas wear Christmas hats and scarves, arrive in a gift box and hold 250g of raw MGO 100+ Manuka honey. Both versions were $42 when we checked. Outside the holidays, the same koalas come in cork, bee, kangaroo and koala hats.

Honey Sticks Gift Box, from $27

Each box holds 12 single-serve sticks of 12g. The certified organic gift boxes were $27 at MGO 150+, $32 at MGO 300+ and $42 at MGO 550+. The brand pitches them for camping, travel and sporting events, and says they're fine to carry on flights. They're a smart pick for the person who will never remember to pack a jar.

Christmas Gift Box MGO 260+ (NPA 10+), $40

The entry point to the boxed Christmas range: a 250g jar for $40 or 500g for $64. Biosota describes it as suited to corporate gifting, which makes sense, since the box does the wrapping for you.

Proper Presents, $50 to $160

Christmas Gift Boxes, MGO 550+ to MGO 1200+

Step up the grade and the same festive box holds a stronger-rated jar. In October 2026 the Christmas boxes were $52 (250g) or $85 (500g) at MGO 550+ (NPA 15+), $78 or $127 at MGO 880+ (NPA 20+), and $140 or $256 at MGO 1200+ (NPA 25+). Biosota explains that the MGO number is milligrams of methylglyoxal per kilogram, so an MGO 550+ jar is rated at a minimum of 550 mg/kg.

Gift Box Twin Pack, $155

Two 70g Violetglass jars, one MGO 1717+ and one MGO 1200+, in a single gift box. It's a tasting flight for the honey fan who likes comparing grades, and the small jars keep the price under the big-jar boxes.

The Splurge Shelf

The MGO 1717+ Violetglass box is the most complete. Biosota says the jar is a Miron biophotonic glass jar that is reusable and 100% recyclable, and that each 500g jar comes with a temperature sensor lid and a premium honey dipper. If you're buying the 250g, add a $14 dipper yourself.

Shipping to the US for the Holidays

  • Free standard shipping: the brand lists free standard shipping on US orders over A$115 (the threshold is set in Australian dollars).
  • Carriers: orders from Australia ship with DHL and international tracking; orders from the USA ship with USPS or UPS, also tracked.
  • Faster options: DHL Express is available for international orders, with rates shown at checkout.
  • Duties: import duties, taxes or customs fees may apply and are the recipient's cost.
  • Changes: email the brand right away if you need to edit an order; once it's processed, changes can't be made.
  • A bonus: the site advertises a free gift with purchases over A$100, limited to one per order, with honey lozenges listed as the gift items.

Biosota's FAQ also points US shoppers to its US store, biosota.us, for paying in US dollars.

Quick Answers

Which gift is safest for kids?

The koala bear, for children over one. The FAQ says honey should never be given to babies under 12 months.

Can I return a gift box the recipient doesn't want?

No. Biosota doesn't accept change-of-mind returns; only damaged or faulty orders are reviewed.

Can I pick up an order in Australia?

Yes. Free local pickup is offered at Varsity Lakes, Queensland, 9am to 3pm AEST, Monday to Friday.

The Bottom Line

For under $20, the dipper and honey drops are cheerful extras. Between $27 and $45, the Christmas koala, a honey sticks box or the MGO 260+ Christmas box are the crowd-pleasers. The twin pack is the tasting gift, and the Violetglass Christmas boxes are for someone who already knows their grades. Order early, since parcels may travel internationally, and check our Biosota deals page before you check out.
