Skin and Senses Materials Guide 2026: What's Really Inside Every Oil, Butter and Scrub

Turn the bottle around. On most body oils you'd need a magnifying glass and a chemistry degree. On a bottle of Skin and Senses Shine oil, the list is six items long, and you can picture every one of them.
That shortness is the whole point of this small Glendale, California brand, and it's also the easiest way to shop it. GlowTrials read every Skin and Senses product page and its FAQ on October 20, 2026 and sorted the store by what things are actually made of: plant oils, butters, sugar and coffee, glass, plastic and woven fibers. Here's what's in each product, as the brand lists it, and why it matters when you're choosing.

Three House Rules Behind Every Label
- Mostly no water. The FAQ says most products are waterless and need no preservative. Only three contain water, and those use a preservative the brand chose for safety and effectiveness.
- No artificial colors. Skin and Senses uses no artificial colors or color stabilizers, so shades can shift from bottle to bottle. The brand says a color change doesn't mean a product has spoiled.
- Not everything can be organic. The FAQ is candid: some ingredients don't exist in organic form, and some aren't available certified organic. Products are made in the USA from globally sourced ingredients.
One more line appears under several ingredient lists: ingredients can change at the manufacturer's discretion, and the packaging carries the most up-to-date list.
Material 1: Plant Oils, Bottled Straight

The oils are the purest expression of the brand's waterless idea. Nothing to emulsify, nothing to preserve, just oils in glass.
| Product | Price | What it's made of, per the brand |
|---|---|---|
| Shine Revitalizing & Smoothing Body Oil (8 oz) | $42 ($15 for 2 oz) | Jojoba, camellia, safflower and apricot kernel oils, vitamin E, phthalate-free fragrance |
| Irresistible Glow Shimmer Oil (2 oz) | $42 | Coconut, avocado, meadowfoam seed, flax seed, jojoba and safflower oils, mica, essential oil blend |
| Illuminate Brightening Face Oil (1 oz) | $42 | Squalane, pomegranate seed, avocado, jojoba, meadowfoam seed and almond oils, calendula, vitamin E, carrot seed oil, essential oils |
What that means in your hand: Shine is the plain, everyday one, a light oil you smooth on damp skin straight out of the shower. Irresistible Glow adds mica, the mineral that gives it its shimmer, which is why the bottle says shake well. Illuminate swaps the body oils for a squalane base and is used by the drop: four to five, warmed between your palms.
Choose oils if: you like the shortest possible ingredient list and a bottle that lasts on a bathroom shelf without water in the mix.

Material 2: Plant Butters, Whipped Thick

The butters are the richest things in the store, built from solid plant fats with oils folded in.
- Fearless body butter ($31 for 5 oz): cocoa butter, aloe butter, coconut oil, shea butter, mango butter, argan oil, watermelon seed oil, vitamin E and phthalate-free fragrance, as listed on the brand's kit page.
- Beyond Nipple Soothing Cream ($16 for 1 oz): cocoa butter, coconut oil, shea butter, marshmallow root, calendula oil, avocado butter, aloe butter and plantain leaf. It's fragrance-free and listed as made without parabens, petroleum or lanolin. The brand also suggests it for lips, heels, cuticles and elbows.
Because these butters contain no added emollients or preservatives, the brand says they react to temperature: softer on a hot porch, firmer in a cold mailbox. It's a side effect of keeping the recipe short.
Material 3: Sugar and Coffee, for the Scrubs

All three scrubs are $34 for an 11.5 oz jar, and each is labeled "no water." The difference is the grit and the oils carrying it:
- Clarity Exfoliating Sugar Body Scrub: organic sugar, apricot kernel oil, grape seed oil, vitamin E and phthalate-free fragrance. Luminous or Unscented.
- Bliss Vitamin C + Superfood Body Polish: sugar, coconut oil, certified organic passion fruit seed oil, watermelon seed oil and phthalate-free fragrance, in the vanilla Summer Mood scent.
- Flawsome Coffee Scrub: ground Arabica bean and sugar, with certified organic carrot seed oil, grape seed, almond and coconut oils, cinnamon and vitamin E.
Every scrub page carries the same warning: there's oil in the jar, so tubs and shower floors get slippery. Step out carefully.
Choose a scrub if: you like a once- or twice-a-week ritual. Sugar for a sweeter, softer grain; coffee if you'd rather your shower smell like a café.
Material 4: The Few With Water
Two everyday favorites sit outside the waterless rule, and their labels show it: both start with distilled water and list a preservative.
- Love Yourself Nourishing Body Lotion ($32 for 8 oz): water, aloe, apricot kernel, olive, grapeseed and coconut oils, stearic acid, emulsifying wax, vegetable glycerin, a preservative system and phthalate-free fragrance. It's labeled vegan, non-GMO and alcohol free, and the brand warns it turns a purple tint over time because no color inhibitors are used.
- Confidence Body Mist ($24 for 5 oz): water, aloe juice, and extracts of witch hazel, black willow bark and sugarcane, with a preservative and fragrance, in Luminous or Vanilla Vibe.
Choose these if: you want something that sinks in fast so you can get dressed straight away.
Material 5: Glass, PP Plastic and Woven Fibers

The packaging follows the same logic as the formulas. Most products come in glass. The body scrubs are in PP plastic jars for bath-time safety, and the pregnancy butter jars are PP as well; the Fearless butter listings describe their jars as 100% recyclable plastic.
The one tool in the store is made of plants, too. The Sisal Linen Back Exfoliating Strap ($8) is woven from natural sisal and linen fibers with a bamboo handle detail, and the brand calls it biodegradable and plastic free. Wet it, add body wash and pull it across your back with both hands.

Reading the Labels Before You Order
Every product page lists its full ingredients, and the brand's returns page suggests testing body products on a small area inside your wrist for two to three days if you have a history of sensitive skin. That matters here, because skincare purchases are final sale. Free U.S. standard shipping starts at $75 after discounts, per the FAQ and site banner.

Skin and Senses Materials FAQ
Which Skin and Senses products contain water?
The FAQ says only three products contain water and use a preservative; most of the range is waterless. The scrubs and the butters are labeled "no water" on their pages.
Why does my lotion look purple?
The brand uses no color inhibitors, and the Love Yourself lotion listing says it will turn a purple tint over time.
Are the products vegan?
Yes, according to the brand: no animal-derived ingredients, and no testing of products or ingredients on animals.
What is the shimmer in Irresistible Glow?
Mica, listed in the ingredients alongside six plant oils. The brand says to shake the bottle before each use.
The Bottom Line
Skin and Senses is easy to shop by ingredient, because its labels are short enough to read in one breath: oils for the shortest list, butters for richness, sugar or coffee for a weekly scrub, aloe for a quick layer. Pick the material that fits your routine, check the full list on the product page, and visit the Skin and Senses deals page before you order.
